Varigence is pleased to release BimlFlex 2026 R2.

Important for Upgrade

Snowflake linked services are upgraded to the Snowflake V2 connector on this release. Existing Snowflake linked services are automatically migrated to the V2 connector, and the new discrete Account, Warehouse, Database, and Role fields are populated from each connection's previous configuration.

Connections whose configuration cannot be derived are migrated with the required fields left empty and will fail the build until the values are supplied. This affects:

  • connections that stored their configuration as a Key Vault connection-string secret: there is no plaintext connection string to read the values from; and
  • connections whose connection string is missing the account, warehouse, or database value.

For any affected connection, open it in the connection editor and re-enter Account, Warehouse, and Database. Until these are supplied, the build reports a required-property error identifying the connection. Connections whose configuration can be read are migrated automatically and require no action.

Installation​

BimlFlex 2026 R2 is installed and upgraded through a single consolidated installer.

New Features​

Snowflake V2 Discrete Connection Fields​

The Snowflake V2 linked service now reads discrete, per-connection properties instead of parsing a synthetic connection string. Each Snowflake connection exposes explicit Account, Warehouse, Database, and Role fields in the connection editor, aligning the connector with Azure Data Factory's native Snowflake V2 linked service and other discrete connectors such as Google BigQuery V2.

  • Discrete configuration: Account (the Snowflake account identifier, including the region segment where applicable, entered as account.region), Warehouse, Database, and Role are configured directly rather than being encoded in a connection string.
  • Automatic migration: When you upgrade, existing Snowflake linked services are migrated to the V2 connector and these fields are populated from each connection's previous configuration. See Important for Upgrade above for the connections that require manual re-entry.
