EdgeRouter Edge Count Threshold
Determines the maximum number of edges before edge routing is completely disabled in a diagram. This will result in edges being straight lines that may overlap other nodes. For very large diagrams, this is necessary to prevent the application from hanging.
The modeling diagrams (Accelerator, schema diagrams, business diagrams) skip edge routing when a diagram's edge count reaches this threshold, drawing edges as straight lines instead. A non-numeric value disables edge routing entirely.
When to Change This Setting
Keep the default 500 for typical models. Raise it if you want routed edges on larger diagrams and accept the extra layout time; lower it if large diagrams feel sluggish while routing.
